Custom game settings and Lone Wolf are now live. Keep Hyjal’s faster defaults, slow things down, or take the long road to 60. You choose the pace.
Your character. Your settings.
Our defaults remain 5× XP · 3× loot · 5× gold, with a free mount at level 1. You can now lower your rates for your whole account or set them separately for each character.
| Setting | Choose your rate |
|---|---|
| Experience | 1×–5× |
| Gold | 1×–5× |
| Reputation | 1×–5× |
| Item loot | 1×–3× |
| Crafting and gathering skill gains | 1×–5×, separately |
| Weapon and defense skill gains | 1×–5×, separately |
| Gathering yield | 1×–5× |
You can also turn these features on or off for each character: the free starter mount, teleporter, bot companions, shop, mail, trading and auction house.
Save your choices, then log out and back into your character for them to apply. Existing characters can use custom settings too.
🐺 Lone Wolf: earn every step
Reach level 60 at 1× rates without a single handout. No trading, no mail, no auction house. Just pure suffering.
Lone Wolf is a permanent challenge for a fresh character:
- Every rate stays at 1×, including XP, gold, reputation, loot and skill gains.
- No trading, mail, auction house or shop. Existing incoming mail or shop orders block enrollment.
- No free starter mount, teleporter or bot companions. You discover the map and flight paths as you travel.
- Parties are limited to other Lone Wolves.
- Your character wears the Lone Wolf shirt. You cannot switch the challenge off or sell the character through the character marketplace.
Start before your first login
- Create a new character in the game.
- Stop at character selection. Do not enter the world.
- Open Game Settings, select that fresh character and choose Begin Lone Wolf.
- Confirm the permanent choice, then enter the world.
A character that has already entered the world cannot opt in. Do not send the fresh character gold, items or other handouts before enrolling.
Make the climb count
Reach level 60 legitimately to earn Lone Wolf recognition on the website, forums and your linked Discord account. Your 1–60 played time is recorded, and your total played time continues afterward.
The restrictions continue at level 60. Deleting your qualifying character removes its recognition, and GM gameplay interventions invalidate a run.
